Become what you behold

"One thing I desire of the Lord, and that will I seek, that I may dwell in His house all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in His temple." - Psalm 27:4

"Put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of thhe Creator." - Colossians 3:10When we renew our minds and hearts in the Presence of god, we take on more of His characteristics. Think of it like the sun & the moon; the moon is constantly absorbing the light from the sun, and so it reflects that light in the night. The moon doesn't make it's own light at all, it only absorbs & reflects. That should be us & God.

We are the moon, absorbing His light, character and love, so that we can then reflect His light, character and love to others. When we spend more time with Him, in His Presence, He grants us the ability to love others how He does, to see others the way He does and to shine Hine light into the world.

You become what you behold. When we behold Him.... (gaze upon His beauty)... we become more like Him. We take on more of His characteristics: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, goodness, faithfulness, and self-control. The fruit of HIS Spirit.

So, I challenge you to think about the things you reflect. Is it the light & love of God that others see reflected in you, in your life? If the answer to that question is no, then maybe it's time to spend more time in His Presence. Saturate yourself with His Word, study & read, worship & praise Him more, talk to Him more. You become what you behold.

"And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord, who is Spirit." - 2 Corinthians 3:18
