"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control; against such things there is no law." - Galatians 5:22
These ^^ things - love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control are what we cultivate through prayer, worship and reading His Word (Relationship with the Lord). When we do these things we stir up the Spirit inside us, it makes us more sensitive to His leading and transforms us to look more like Christ.
A lot of folks will attempt to substitute their name for the word 'love' in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, and see if that is true about themselves. I love this practice! It gives us a gage for where we are in our walk, transformation and sanctification. So, I do this with the fruit of the Spirit as well. I just rate myself from 1-10 on where I am in showing, living and being each one.
I know from my personal experience, when I am in the prayer room more, I tend to score a bit higher in my self assessment. As I do with the exercise in 1 Corinthians 13. It's so important to be intentional with our time, focus and goals. Do our goals line up with Scripture & what the Lord is speaking to us? Is our focus really on Him, and Kingdom living? Do we spend our time wisely, and are we giving Him the first fruits of it, or maybe what little might be left over?
Try to prioritize some time this month to pray, worship and read His Word. These are the things that change us, and you will see more of the fruit of His Spirit in you!
