"So, the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. And he would return to the camp, but his servant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, did not depart from the tabernacle." Exodus 33:11
"And Jesus answered and said to her, 'Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her." Luke 10:41-42
Martha & Moses both were obviously great lovers of the Lord, but they were also somewhat distracted by life. Now, we all have to deal with life, we have to go to work, make a living, clean the house, be a good steward of everything the Lord has given us in this life. The important thing though... the ONE THING, Jesus even says the ONE THING THAT IS NEEDED... is to sit at His feet, be in His Presence, listen to His Word.
Some might say that in today's world this is hard to do. I would argue that in this time when we have the Holy Spirit with us, in us, always... when we have direct access to His Presence... it's easier than ever. If we just make time. If God is not a priority in our lives; we need to reevaluate our priorities. I know that everything in this world is fighting for our attention, for our love, and for our mind; what/who is winning that fight?
"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God" Romans 12:2
Renew your mind, with His Word and with His Presence. You can do this while washing dishes, walking the dog, at work, in the car... absolutely anywhere! That is how we can pray without ceasing! It is still so important to make time to be alone with the Lord, to let Him have your full attention & for Him to have your full attention. Get alone with the Lord, come during a devotional worship set, get in your prayer closet, book a time in the One City Prayer Room. Just let Him reset and renew your mind.
